Monday League Rules

General
The league is in mixed triples format. Team captains are responsible for selecting their teams each week and arranging for replacement players in the event that the selected members cannot play. The selection should be arranged so that all members of a team play the same number of games – in so far as this is possible.

Club members who are not in the initially selected league teams may apply to join by contacting the Club Captain.

Where a team is nominated for ‘Tea’ the relevant captain shall arrange for members of the team to make the tea, etc. Similarly where a team is nominated for ‘Rinks’ the relevant ‘Skip’ shall ensure that all teams set out and put away the necessary rink equipment.

Playing Rules
Matches shall be played in accordance with the EBA rules, subject to any exceptions below.

The matches shall be played on the dates indicated on the fixture list, which will be distributed to the team captains and posted up in each changing room and the main clubhouse.

Matches will commence at 2.00 pm.. The last end may commence no later than 4.25 pm.

Matches will be of 14 ends (unless they cannot be completed due to the above time limitation, or to weather conditions). Tea will be taken after seven ends

‘No ends’ will not be replayed, but will count as an end, with a one shot penalty awarded against the team causing the ‘no end’.

The teams will toss for the jack, there will be no trial ends and only one shot may be won on the first end.

If ‘measurement’ is disputed, a ’skip’ from an adjoining rink shall be asked to umpire.

The home team (as indicated on the fixture list) ‘skip’ will be responsible for completing the score card on behalf of both teams and both ‘skips’ shall sign the final card. The score cards will be issued before the matches and collected immediately afterwards.

There will be two points for a win and one point for a draw.

Any team which is incomplete or fails to appear by 2.10 pm will forfeit the points and a ten shot penalty, which will be credited to their opponents. If, during play, a team member is incapacitated they may be replaced by another member of the team, or by a club member who is not a member of any other league team – without penalty.

In the event of bad weather the start may be delayed, there may be breaks in play, or play may have to be curtailed before 4.30 pm. In such cases:

- If no match has completed 9 ends all scores are null and void – the matches will be draws.
- If one or more matches has completed 9 ends all results are recorded, for completed ends.

The league winners will be the team with the greatest number of points. In the event of a tie the team with the greatest positive shot differential score will be the winner and if they are the same the results between the tied teams, points first and then shot differential, will determine the winner. If there is no difference at this time, joint winners will be declared.
